A few changes and reminders

Hello First Grade Friends and Families!

What a wacky week it's been!  First and foremost, thank you so much for your well wishes.  My daughter and I are both feeling better!

Due to me being out two days this week and the unexpected day off school I postponed the spelling test until Monday.  Please study with your child over the weekend.  The words are listed in their take home folder in the "Spelling List" protective sleeve.

Also, don't forget Reading Logs are due on Monday, February 6.  Your child should have at least 4 books recorded on their reading log.

We will review Math Chapter 5 on Monday and our Test will be Tuesday, February 7.

The 100th day of school is on Wednesday, February 8.  I will send home a note about 100th day on Monday.  You won't need to do much! We are going to have a 100th day read-a-thon.  Students can bring blankets and favorite books.  We will spend the day reading and sharing stories.  Our goal is to read 100 books between all of us!

Reading Homework Journals are due on Thursday, February 9.

A note will come home next week regarding bringing valentines to school, as well as a list of  the names of all of the students in our class.  If you are a "work ahead" kind of person, you can start helping your child make a valentine mailbox.  This is a family project and you can make it out of whatever container you would like (cereal box, tissue box, plastic container, gift bag, paper grocery bag, etc.)  Make sure their name is highly visible and they can bring it to school when it's ready, Valentine's Day being the last day.

Congratulations to the following students for making their AR goal so far this quarter:
Hailey
Makaelyn
Maile
Dean
Congratulations to Hailey for making her AR challenge goal!  She will get to attend the challenge party at the end of the grading period.  There is still plenty of time to make the AR challenge goal (10 points).  We have a few who are getting really close!

Have a great weekend!

Hugs and High Fives!
Ms. Bleich
